CMU-SPP PhD program trains policy scholars and ‘pracademics’ in the cutting-edge techniques needed to create evidence-based, values-driven solutions.

CMU-SPP doctoral students acquire advanced skills, drawing on resources from multiple departments of Chiang Mai University and international partners.
CMU-SPP faculty serve on the editorial boards of Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, Critical Policy Studies, and Economic Development Quarterly.

Our pracademic faculty consult with or have been employed by global agencies and non-governmental organizations, including the World Bonk, the OECD, UN Development Programme, Transparency International, Asia Foundation, UN Food and Agriculture Organization, UK District Council’s Network, Thailand’s National Innovation Agency, Thai Ministry of Energy, and Johns
Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
